Here are the spring detox yoga poses. Start to be aware of your breath, take deep inhales and exhale fully through the nose ideally. Keep your breath steady and even.
Chair Pose With Twist
Bring your feet either hip-width apart or together (depending on your comfort level).
Bend your knees as if you are sitting on a chair; make sure your knees are aligned with the centre of your feet.
Bring your hands together at the heart canter and bring one elbow to the opposite knee, pressing your palms firmly together.
Squeeze your shoulder blades together and open your chest wide.
Benefits: stimulates the liver and digestive system while toning the abdominals and improving the elimination process. In addition, this pose improves the health of the spine and vertebrae.
Half Spinal Twist Seated
Sit on the floor with both legs stretched out in front of you.
Bend your left leg towards your chest.
Rotate your torso toward your left knee.
Wrap your right arm around the left knee.
Inhale and lengthen your spine, exhale and gently twist from your belly, swap sides and repeat.
Benefits: helps to stimulate digestion and remove the toxins of the body. As the abdominal organs are squeezed, the kidney and liver are stimulated. When the twist is released, blood then enters the organs.
Boat Pose Pulses
Sit with knees bent and feet flat on the ground.
Hold arms, palms up, in front so that hands brush the sides of knees.
Lean back until torso is at a 45-degree angle to the floor.
Slowly lift feet off of the floor as you straighten legs any amount (it is fine to have knees bent), forming a “V” with your body.
From boat, lower middle back to the floor as you reach knees to the right and arms to the left.
Return to boat in the centre, then lower knees to left and arms to right.
Repeat this sequence 10 times on each side.
Benefits: fires up the digestive system while melting away that belly fat!
Lie facing down, bend knees, and take hold of ankles.
Press feet into hands, keeping knees hip-width apart, and lift head and chest off the ground.
Stay here for 5 deep breaths.
Benefits: puts light pressure on the belly, making the digestive system stronger and healthier by increasing blood flow to abdominal organs.
