Sam TilburySam Tilbury – Head of Personal Training

The founder of 121 personal training, Sam Tilbury is one of London’s most experienced and highly qualified personal trainers.

An early graduate of the prestigious Premier Diploma in the late 1990s, Sam has more than 20,000 hours experience in training clients on a one to one basis.

Sam was the first ever personal trainer hired by ‘The Fitness Partnership’  – who were the first company in the UK to offer in-house personal training in gyms.

Sam established 121 personal training to provide a bespoke health, fitness and lifestyle service for clients in the South West London region.

His clients have included professional tennis players, racing drivers and MMA fighters, corporate clients, company CEOs and celebrities from the worlds of acting, fashion and music.

Sam has trained clients to take part in events as diverse as professional and amateur MMA fights, amateur boxing and kickboxing matches, professional motor racing events, professional dance events, professional tennis matches, the London marathon, numerous half marathons, triathlons and ironman events, the three peaks challenge, the nine peaks challenge and even the world’s toughest footrace, the Marathon des Sables.

Sam has also helped clients to prepare for weddings, skiing trips or beach holidays, and to get back in shape after childbirth, injury and major surgery.

In addition to his many personal training awards, Sam is also a former semi-professional footballer and a GBMAA blackbelt in kickboxing.

He holds additional qualifications as a Sports Therapist, thai massage therapist, sports massage therapist, swedish massage therapist, lifestyle coach, nutritionist, clinical hypnotist, IKFF kettlebell coach, ABA level 1 boxing coach, GBMAA martial arts instructor and self defence instructor.

Sam has worked for the N.H.S as an exercise specialist, and over the years has been fortunate enough to study with and learn from expert instructors such as Steve Dixon – 5th degree blackbelt, Tony Lloyd – 8th degree blackbelt, Adam Booth – professional boxing trainer, James Kilkenny – amateur boxing trainer, Jon Trevor – broadcaster and the pioneer of gym-based personal training in the UK, Chrissie Gallagher-Mundy – fitness author and ante-natal expert, and Jamie Lloyd – master kettlebell instructor.

All this knowledge and experience makes Sam one of the few personal trainers in London who is able to take a truly holistic approach to helping clients from all walks of life reach their fitness goals.

Magdalena Skrzypek NutritionistMagda Skrzypek – Head of Yoga and Nutrition

Magda is the head of yoga and nutrition at 121 and specialises in providing personal yoga lessons, yoga therapy and nutrition coaching for individuals and small groups.

She started practicing yoga in 2005 and is currently a level 3 qualified Hatha yoga teacher, and nationally registered Yoga Therapist.

Magda is a graduate of the YMCA 500 hour teacher training programme under YMCA Director of Yoga, Conrad Paul.

She has also completed TriYoga’s post-graduate course in teaching one-to-one yoga under Kate Ellis, and has taught abroad at yoga retreats for Sandy Donnelly.

In addition, Magda is also a Premier qualified nutritional adviser and a level 2 YMCA qualified fitness instructor.

Magda takes a holistic approach to health and fitness and teaches Hatha yoga, restorative yoga, yoga for beginners and fitness yoga to private clients in South West London.

She also provides 121 nutrition coaching and teaches her students how to make informed food choices for themselves and their families.

Magda makes yoga enjoyable and accessible for all, and her goal is to help clients of all experience levels to live healthier and more balanced lives.

Her expert knowledge, fun personality and passionate teaching style make Magda a great choice for anyone looking to improve their health and well being through private yoga practice and nutrition coaching.

Gary H

Gary is a senior personal trainer with 121 and has many years experience in both gym and home based training.

He is a Level 3 personal trainer with Lifetime and is an expert in physique transformation for events such as weddings and beach holidays.

Gary is also qualified as a boxercise instructor and nutrition coach.

He has a fun, friendly and confident approach with clients and knows how to get the best from people.

Gary specialises in helping our clients at 121 to transform their bodies, using boxing pad work, kettlebell strength workouts and practical nutritional planning to achieve spectacular results.

The best investment I have ever made! I feel strong, toned and happy and it’s all thanks to Gary.

Mia S

Mia is a senior yoga teacher with 121 and teaches our clients Core Strength Vinyasa, freestyle fitness yoga, pre and post-natal yoga, barre lessons and high intensity pilates.

She is a highly qualified and extremely knowledgeable teacher, with more than seven years experience in teaching both private and corporate clients.

Mia is a Yoga Alliance qualified teacher under Elena Voyce, and also a graduate of the British Wheel of Yoga teaching Diploma.

In addition, she is also a Core Strength Vinyasa teacher under CSV founder Sadie Nardini, a thai yoga massage therapist under Kira Balaskas, and a Unite qualified freestyle fitness yoga teacher.

Mia strongly believes in the life changing potential of yoga and is passionate about sharing this with her many long term clients.

She has trained clients to take part in triathlons and marathons, and has helped others to recover from lower back pain and chronic injuries.


Karen M

Karen is a senior personal trainer with 121 and has many years experience in gym, studio and home based personal training.

She is a Level 3 Platinum personal trainer, kettlebell instructor, TRX instructor and sports nutritionist, and specialises in helping our clients to lose weight and transform their bodies.

Karen is also qualified in pre and post-natal training and gym based boxing.

She is a fun, energetic and engaging trainer who has helped our clients with everything from injury rehabilitation to achieving long lasting weight loss results.

Karen is a fitness competitor herself and is currently in training for various bikini and fitness categories.

This wealth of practical training experience means that Karen is in high demand with clients who want to get in great shape for weddings, beach holidays and summer events.


Kat K 

Kat is a senior personal trainer and kickboxing instructor with 121 and has many years experience in home based, outdoor and studio based training.

She is a REPS Level 3 personal trainer, weight management specialist and post and ante natal instructor.

Kat is also a black belt instructor in kickboxing and fought in the last European kickboxing championships.

She is currently preparing for the world kickboxing championships, so she practices what she preaches, and knows exactly what it takes to get our clients fighting fit.

She is a friendly, highly qualified and enthusiastic trainer and the ideal choice if you want to learn kickboxing or boxing, lose weight or get back in shape after pregnancy.


Billy C

Billy is a senior yoga teacher with 121 and teaches our clients Hatha yoga with a focus on alignment, core strength and flexibility.

He is a level 3 YMCA qualified teacher under YMCA Director of Yoga, Conrad Paul.

Billy has been surrounded by yoga his whole life, as both his parents are professional yoga teachers, and he loves sharing his experience with others through his teaching.

He has a holistic style of teaching, with reflection and mindfulness through meditation and breath work also key elements of his 121 classes.

Billy is a friendly, popular and encouraging teacher who helps our 121 yoga clients to benefit on a physical, mental and emotional basis.
